This early intermediate (Level 2-3) Christmas piano duet sheet music has a basic structure that is easy for students to learn quickly.
Both primo and secondo are written in regular position and played an octave higher and octave lower than written, respectively.
Melody is primarily in the primo but the secondo features a portion of the melody. Both secondo and primer parts are close in level.
This duet makes a good selection for either a Christmas recital or Christmas church service.

The secondo has a lot of flowing eighth notes. Encourage the pianist to work on subtle dynamic shifts and perhaps a little rubato to bring out warmth.
Even though the primo is easier with primarily unison notes, encourage the student to bring out the melody and provide a musical arc for the repeated notes.
When playing together, encourage the student to “play as one.”
