Teaching tips for Oh, How I Love Jesus elementary piano sheet music
This is a great piece to assign students learning the key of A. The right hand is in a simple 5-finger position while the left hand reads an octave E3-E4. Help the student identify the similar left hand patterns. For instance, the dotted half note intervals in measures 5-18 are simply “broken” into quarter-half notes in measures 21-34. This can lead to a great discussion about harmonic and melodic intervals. If the student can fluently play the first section, then they are well on their way to easily mastering the second section.
Performance tips for Oh, How I Love Jesus elementary piano sheet music
If the arrangement is too short for an offertory or recital selection, at measure 36, repeat from the beginning and play either the right hand or both hands 8va.
